Definitions
Alpha state:
A specific frequency
(between 7 and 12 Hz.) at which the brain operates during a certain state
of consciousness. It is between Beta (normal waking) and Delta (normal
sleeping).
Asana:
Sanskrit - a Hatha Yoga stretching
posture or position.
Conscious Mental Activity:
only
arises when the individual is deeply encapsulated in a profound state
of Hear and Now.
Didgeridoo:
an ancient instrument native
to Australia , as well as to the Amazon basin and various Pacific islands.
It is a hollow pipe or tube composed of either natural or human made materials
with or with out a mouth-piece, usually made of bee's wax. Air is blown
into the tube producing a vibration which tends to stop the mind and induce
the trance state of "alpha".
Experiential Metaphysics:
a level of consciousness where the perceiver experiences a state above
and beyond physical reality.
Here and Now:
no past; no future; absolutely
no unconscious mental activity. Pure awareness being purely aware of itself.
Holistic:
emphasizing the importance of
the organic, interdependent relationship between the whole and its parts.
Interactive:
Where the client alternates
between passively receiving and actively engaging in slow, gentle, deeply
meditative yoga asanas.
Metaphysical:
above and beyond physical
reality.
Microcosm:
the human being as an exact miniature
version of the larger universe or macrocosm.
Prana:
Sanskrit: pra = 1st, na = unit.
The first and smallest unit of energy in the universe of which all manifest
things are created. Also, 'the breath of life', and, 'the universal life
force' which pervades all of existence.
Pranayama:
Sanskrit -1) control or regulation
of the Prana, the universal life force, that enters the body with each
breath. 2) yogic breath-work, breathing exercise/techniques.
Proprioception:
self awareness, inner awareness,
the 6th sense, the faculty of perception within us which can be focused
upon the entire body as a whole, and/or upon individual specific parts
down to the 1st and smallest unit of pure energy called 'Prana'.
Proprioceptive Balancing:
A process by which
the proprioception, inner awareness, is passed systematically through
the body thereby bringing about an eventual complete hemispheric synchronization
of the Being, as well as an eventual complete erasure of all 'samskaras'.
Samskara:
Sanskrit - a latent impression
of a past reaction to an input that entered the being through one of the
6 senses.
Unconscious Mental Activity:
thoughts
of the past and future that are always charged with desire, wanting/not
wanting. Each and every one of these thoughts always stores as a samskara that
causes a vasana .
Vasanas:
tendencies that arise due to one's
samskaras.
Yoga:
1) yoke; 2) union; uniting of polar
opposites. 3) a state of perfect balance.
